Eighteen months ago, five authors shared a vision of creating a place to talk about and promote clean, contemporary romance. Our vision included a community of like-minded readers excited to join the conversation!
A few people have joined the community, but it’s small. And blogging is hard. And being a writer isn’t just about writing anymore. We have to think about platform and marketing and networking that most readers don’t want to hear about. Trust us, we can relate! We’d much rather talk about books!
We’ve had a great time getting to know each other and sharing our ideas and thoughts, but the Romance Readers Cafe didn’t quite evolve the way we’d hoped. And we’re okay with that. Instead of trying to lure like-minded people to us, we’ve discovered where these like-minded people hang out, and we’re going to join them there.
There are two great resources on Facebook, and let’s face it — we’re never going to be able to compete with Facebook! But you’ll be able to find us (and people like us!) in one of these groups:
Sweet and Clean Reader Group: A group for readers of clean romance to find community, share book recommendations, and talk about reading!
Sweet/Clean Romance Group: Here to bat ideas back and forth about writing and marketing. This is a sweet romance group only, no sexual content please. Have fun, feel free to start discussions, but let’s be drama free. Please do not promote on the main page, that is not our purpose.
Thanks for hanging in there with us, and thanks for letting us spend time with you! The cafe will stay open through the end of the year if you’d like to stop in and read past posts, but we’ll shut our doors in December. In the meantime, you can find us all online at Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
